Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country DLC gets free Switch 2 upgrade as patch on July 30

Nintendo has announced that those who own Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country via the standalone release digitally and physically will get a free upgrade to bring in the enhancements.

Those who own Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country DLC via the expansion pass will have to upgrade Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to access the enhancements. Basically the way to access the enhancements based on what you own for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is below:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 base game: $9.99 Upgrade Pack
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with Expansion Pass: $9.99 Upgrade Pack upgrades both the base game and Torna expansion.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country standalone: Free patch adds the 4K 60fps docked upgrade and 1080p 60fps handheld upgrade.

Note: The physical edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will not include the Expansion Pass similar to how The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not include the Expansion Pass DLC.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are now available on Switch. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches on July 30 digitally and October 1 physically.
