Tales of Eternia Remastered resolution and frame rate targets revealed for PS5, Switch 2, PC, Xbox, and more
Following its announcement during the Nintendo Direct, Bandai Namco has revealed the resolution and frame rate targets for Tales of Eternia Remastered for all platforms and also confirmed the upgrade path options for PlayStation and Switch 1/2 on the official website.
You can find the resolution and frame rate targets for all platfomrs in the table below:
| Platform | Resolution | Frame rate |
| PS5 | 4K | Up to 60fps |
| PS4 | 1080p | Up to 60fps |
| Switch 2 | 4K / 1080p | Up to 60fps |
| Switch 1 | 1080p / 720p | Up to 60fps |
| Xbox Series X | 4K | Up to 60fps |
| Xbox Series S | 1440p | Up to 60fps |
| PC Steam | Maximum 4K* | Up to 60fps |
This is a notable improvement for Nintendo platforms over the last few Tales of releases, though those were newer games. Note that the technical specifications on Bandai Namco's Japanese website should be treated as targets and not a guarantee for the final game's resolution and frame rate. Note that the PC resolution depends on the monitor you use.
Tales of Eternia Remastered Switch 1 to Switch 2 upgrade will not be available
The Japanese eShop page for Tales of Eternia Remastered confirms that there will be no upgrade path from Switch 1 to Switch 2 and that save data is not compatible between versions. The Japanese website confirms that buying the game on the PlayStation Store will give you both the PS4 and PS5 versions though.
Tales of Eternia Remastered launches on October 15/16 for PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, PS4, Switch, and Steam.
