Mega Man X: Command Mission is coming to PlayStation Plus Premium Classics Catalog this September

At the September 2026 State of Play, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that they will release Capcom's Mega Man X: Command Mission via the Premium PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog to make it playable on PlayStation 5 and 4. The stream image only shows "Later this year", but the host announced verbally that Command Mission "arrives later this month", which means September.

Capcom initially released the Mega Man X-themed RPG in Japan as Rockman X: Command Mission in July 2004 for PlayStation 2 and GameCube. While this RPG obviously featured the series' heroes X, Zero, and Axl, it also had a story with a new cast of allies and enemies.

The English localized release appeared later in North America in September 2004 and in Europe in November of the same year. The version that will be playable in the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog will be based on the PS2 release.

As a side note, SIE also announced the survival horror game Dino Crisis 2 and the first Ratchet & Clank game in the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog.
