TGS 2017: Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet trailer shows new characters and avatar customization

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, an action RPG / third-person shooter hybrid based off of the light novel series.

The trailer introduces two original characters new to the game: Kureha - a childhood friend of the player avatar, and Zeliska - a mysterious woman who is sure to play a key role in the story. Despite the trailer showing a perspective for these characters as though they are playable, both these characters are for story-purposes only. We are also introduced to an AI companion, ArFA-Sys, who seems to act as the player's partner.

The trailer also showcases some of the character customization in the game, where you can set your player's abilities and appearance.

The Japanese release date for the console versions of the game has been set for February 8 2018, while the PC release will come later. The western release dates have yet to be confirmed.

Sword Art Online is set to release in Early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can find the announcement details here.
