Thalassea is a beautiful country with a hot climate, but easy to live in due to its cleanliness. The Queen, Nerea, is known for keeping very strict laws, however, and problems seem to 'disappear' whenever her rule is questioned.

Broadleaf is a corporate country, founded on the ideals of science and technology. President Musaka has ambitions to create a 'Magicial Fusion Reactor', which will allow him to take control of the world. Most of the countries science endeavors are done in a giant skyscraper building known as the Knowledge Tree.

More details on Kingdom Mode were also introduced. In addition to recrutiing talented people to work in the Kingdom of Estavania, the player must also decide which facilities to build and which research to undertake. In three basic steps, building the kingdom involves:

  1. Using Kingdom Gold to construct facilities.
  2. Recruiting people to work in these faciliities.
  3. Performing research at these facilities.

Facilities can include things like workshops, magic research labs, or farms. Each person you can assign to a facility has four different stat parameters - Military, Technology, Spirit, and Magic - that dictates what facilities they are best suited for. When research gets underway, not only will they aid in Evan's adventure, but the look of the townscape will change.
