Bandai Namco has posted the second behind the scenes video for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, which focuses on the creation of the cast of characters. In case you missed it, you can find the first video here.
The Japanese official website as also updated, providing more details and screenshots on the countries of Thalassea and Broadleaf, as well as the game's Kingdom Mode. Thalassea and Kingdom Mode were also detailed previously.
Thalassea is a beautiful country with a hot climate, but easy to live in due to its cleanliness. The Queen, Nerea, is known for keeping very strict laws, however, and problems seem to 'disappear' whenever her rule is questioned.
Broadleaf is a corporate country, founded on the ideals of science and technology. President Musaka has ambitions to create a 'Magicial Fusion Reactor', which will allow him to take control of the world. Most of the countries science endeavors are done in a giant skyscraper building known as the Knowledge Tree.
More details on Kingdom Mode were also introduced. In addition to recrutiing talented people to work in the Kingdom of Estavania, the player must also decide which facilities to build and which research to undertake. In three basic steps, building the kingdom involves:
- Using Kingdom Gold to construct facilities.
- Recruiting people to work in these faciliities.
- Performing research at these facilities.
Facilities can include things like workshops, magic research labs, or farms. Each person you can assign to a facility has four different stat parameters - Military, Technology, Spirit, and Magic - that dictates what facilities they are best suited for. When research gets underway, not only will they aid in Evan's adventure, but the look of the townscape will change.
Other screenshots show "Leafbook", the in-game social network, as well as the Higgledie Almanac, which lists the various Higgledies met on the adventure. Characters will also have various costumes they can be selected, including a costume for Evan in the style of Oliver from the first Ni no Kuni.
