Azur Lane announces a collaboration with Utawarerumono, which will be held in Japan in November 2018
Yostar has announced a lot of major projects for Azur Lane, the mobile shmup RPG game made by Chinese development companies Manjuu and Yongshi which just had a very successful first year in Japan. After previously revealing that Compile Heart is going to release a PlayStation 4 game titled Azur Lane Crosswave, they have made a couple more announcements at today's Japanese 1st-anniversary event.
In addition to confirming that an official TV anime show is in the works, Yostar also announced that Azur Lane will have a collaboration with Aquaplus' well-known strategy RPG series Utawarerumono.
Yostar will bring the famous female characters from Utawarerumono, such as Kuon, Nekone, and Rulutieh, to Azur Lane. More characters are also being teased in the stream, which most likely includes Uruuru, Saraana, and Fumiriru as well. This marks the second collaboration which brings characters from other IPs to the game as ship girls after Compile Heart's Hyperdimension Neptunia.
Aquaplus is also currently designing new ship girl equipment & attires that will be worn by the Utawarerumono characters in Azur Lane. They have also published a rough teaser of Kuon's new attire, which you can see right below.
Azur Lane's collaboration event with Utawarerumono will commence in Japan in November 2018. Although Yostar has also recently made Azur Lane's English version available in North America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, there is no news yet on when this collaboration will be brought over to the English servers.
