Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally coming to the west in 2020

After seven years, popular action RPG and MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 is making its way to the west. It's coming in Spring 2020, and even better yet, it's still free-to-play.

The news was revealed earlier today at Microsoft's E3 conference. You'll be able to play it on the Xbox One and PC. It originally came out back in 2012 in Japan, so it's been a long while but better late than never, yeah?

Update: At this time, Phantasy Star Online 2 is only confirmed for North America. SEGA cannot confirm releases in other territories at this time. This was announced via their Twitter account, which you can read below:

PSO2 is finally making its western debut in North America on Xbox One in Spring 2020. Regarding an EMEA release, there's nothing to confirm right now. We understand it’s frustrating, but when we have more news to share, we will. Stay tuned to https://pso2.com  for updates.

We'd like to thank all PSO2 fans for your ongoing support and patience. This is a big step for a much loved franchise and we promise to keep you up to date with any developments and progress in making the game accessible to as many players as possible.
