Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Classes guide: Answers & Rewards for every Class

One major narrative change in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is that it's set in a school - an Academy, the exact detail of which varies depending on which version you're playing. One thing that doesn't vary, however, is the school classes that you can take as part of attending the academy - and this page is a guide to that whole system, new for this game.

You'll be able to take classes in Biology, Math, History, Languages, Battle Studies, Art, and Home Ec - each of them tooled to correspond to a different series of mechanics present in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Taking the lessons, classes, and subsequent midterm and final exams can give you big rewards - and this page will help you to ace every exam and get them all.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Classes Rewards explained

Taking on the lectures at school can be worthwhile, as each has classes rewards to be had.

You should basically think of the academy school classes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet as the game's optional tutorial content. The classes range from the absolute basic Pokemon stuff that all but series newcomers will know to some deeper dives into systems and mechanics that are actually new or significantly changed this time around in Scarlet & Violet.

So, one reward for the classes is Knowledge - but you do actually get items, too.

Each class is made up a series of lessons, which are basically just short, dialogue-heavy cutscenes that run through key topics relating to the subject at hand. Then, after several lessons, you can take a Midterm exam, answering questions on the topics previously covered. After a few more lessons, you can take a Finals exam. This is the same for each subject.

Getting a passing grade on the Midterm and Finals exams will net you items in the form of Exp. Candy, which can be fed to Pokemon to give them a bunch of experience and raise their level.

In addition, after taking classes with them some of the teachers can be found around school - chat to them and these conversations can often lead to the teachers giving you one-off gifts. Keep an eye out for a marker on the school map after class, which can indicate when a teacher is ready to chat to you outside of the classroom.

These rewards are all quite tame - but the classes themselves do occasionally surface interesting information, especially for less experienced players. You'll have to make a call for yourself if it's worth it specifically for you.
