Super Robot Wars 30 second trailer reveals a new complete unit for Code Geass' Lelouch

Update (October 13)

Bandai Namco Southeast Asia has just uploaded the official English version of Super Robot Wars 30's second trailer. While it took an unusually very long time, we finally have footage of the latest scenes in English.

The new English trailer confirmed the official romanized names for the game's original warship, which shall now be known as Dreisstrager; and the ship's main crew, comprised of Mitsuba Greyvalley, Reynold Hardin, and Lian Ambird.

We also get more English screens on the off-battle menus like the Mission List, Skill Program, and the new AOS Update system where players can incrementally upgrade the Dreisstrager by spending MxP (Mission Experience Points).

The original story for the Japanese trailer follows the new English trailer available right below.

Original

At the September 2021 Super Robot Wars series live stream, Bandai Namco revealed the second official trailer for Super Robot Wars 30. The new trailer shows more gameplay features and mechs from the featured mecha anime titles that did not appear in the first trailer.

Most of the mechs featured here are expected to appear since they also showed up in the original shows. For example, Gundam Unicorn's protagonist Banagher Links appeared in Gundam Narrative with another Mobile Suit called Silver Bullet Suppressor, and that's the mech he will primarily use in this game. However, the trailer had one big surprise in which the game will add a new Knightmare Frame for Lelouch. While Lelouch piloted an incomplete frame named Gekkoei in the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection movie, this game will exclusively have a completed version of that unit, which will be newly named Gekkoei Sui.

The trailer also shows more of the gameplay features available in the game, other than the non-linear Mission system. Just like prior SRW games, players in SRW 30 can further enhance pilots by using PP (Pilot Points) obtained from shooting down enemies to produce Skill Programs. These programs can be applied to give more beneficial skills for a pilot. The new AOS Update system will let players upgrade the game's original warship Drei Sutrager by spending MxP (Mission experience points) collected from clearing missions.

While Bandai Namco usually published English trailers not long after the original Japanese ones, the company has still yet to release an English version of this trailer for whatever reason. In the meantime, you can find the original Japanese trailer right below.

Super Robot Wars 30 will be available worldwide on PC via Steam on October 28. The game will also be available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia. Note that the Switch release will be separated into Japan (Japanese & English languages) and Hong Kong (Chinese & Korean) versions. Bandai Namco also plans to publish the third trailer for the game in October, sometime before its release date.
