Warframe's tech team is excited to take advantage of Nintendo Switch 2 features, but are waiting on devkits
Before TennoCon, which saw Digital Extremes announce a lot of Warframe news, I had a chance to attend a virtual preview for the event and group Q&A where I was able to ask about Warframe Nintendo Switch 2 support.
During this pre-TennoCon media preview, the group Q&A featured Digital Extremes' Rebecca Ford (Warframe Creative Director), Megan Everett (Warframe Community Director & Live Ops), Steve Sinclair (CEO), and more. Warframe initially had some issues on Nintendo Switch 2 via backward compatibility, but these were addressed soon after the system launched and it is playable now as you can see in my photo below.

I asked the team at Digital Extremes about its plans for Nintendo Switch 2 support and was told the following. Note that the responses have been slightly edited for clarity.
Megan: So currently, Warframe is on the Nintendo Switch 2. In the eShop, you can download it. It is what we are calling the Nintendo Switch 1 version of Warframe. I believe we are still waiting on our devkits for Nintendo Switch 2.
Steve: Our tech team is so excited to take advantage of the high speed cores and the other really cool features of it. There's just such a backlog for dev kits. So we definitely have plans and when we get a dev kit, we will be doing a custom build for Warframe. Faster Load times, there's a lot of stuff that we can do to take advantage of extra cores that we can't until we get a dev kit.
Warframe is now available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. It is coming to Android via a closed beta this Fall.
