Warframe is in the works for Nintendo Switch 2, Digital Extremes now has devkits
Warframe for Nintendo Switch 2 is in the works as confirmed by Creative Director Rebecca Ford and CEO Steve Sinclair during Devshorts 71.
This update comes a few months after I had a chance to attend a pre-TennoCon media preview with a the group Q&A that featured Digital Extremes' Rebecca Ford (Warframe Creative Director), Megan Everett (Warframe Community Director & Live Ops), Steve Sinclair (CEO), and more. While they confirmed that the team is still waiting on devkits back then with a backlog to get them, the new Devshorts 71 video on YouTube confirms that they have devkits and even are planning on showing footage from the game captured on Switch 2. You can find this segment from 10:55 onwards in the video below:
Steve goes on to say the following:
The Switch 2 is a very impressive piece of kit. Our tech leads are working on it and are very excited about it.
As of now, Warframe is playable on Nintendo Switch 2 via backward compatibility. A release date for any potential Nintendo Switch 2 enhanced update or a native release are yet to be announced.
Warframe is now available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. It is coming to Android via a closed beta this Fall.
