Pokemon Champions releases this April for Switch and Summer for Mobile

The February 2026 Pokemon Presents included a new trailer for Pokemon Champions. The Pokemon Company has also finally confirmed launch windows for the free-to-play game. It will appear first for Nintendo Switch this April. And while the English broadcast notes "later this year" for the mobile iOS & Android versions, the Japanese broadcast has a more specific window in Summer 2026.

The Pokemon Company had previously featured Pokemon Champions multiple times last year, including in July and August. The new trailer also shows how players will be able to battle from both Switch and mobile devices via cross-play.

Besides the main trailer, the company has also uploaded the game's Opening Movie on their YouTube channel. You can find them after the new official images right below.

Trainers can start battling it out this April in the Pokémon Champions game on Nintendo Switch — and later this year on mobile devices.

Later this year, Trainers will be able to connect the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game to Pokémon HOME. By linking Pokémon Champions to Pokémon HOME, they’ll be able to bring Pokémon that appear in both these titles to visit Pokémon Champions and battle alongside them as they aim for the title of Champion. Trainers can also claim additional rewards in Pokémon Champions, such as a Chesnaughtite stone, Delphoxite stone and Greninjite stone, by transferring these Mega Stones’ corresponding Pokémon that were originally obtained in Pokémon LegendsZ-A into Pokémon HOME.

We look forward to seeing Pokémon Champions on the main stage for the Video Game Championships later this year at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco.
