Tetracast - Episode 43: Mass Effect: Andromeda Special!
Welcome to the first of our (hopeful) tradition of weekly podcasts! While we're aiming to do these shorter than what we have typically done them, this one still comes across as long but very eventful. Mass Effect: Andromeda had its big unveiling today as part of the N7 Day festivities, an annual event where we find out something new from the BioWare team. This year was no different as we are only 4 months away from the scheduled release of one of the most anticipated RPGs in recent memory.
But before we get into that discussion, we like to talk about the games we have been playing. First up, Andrea talks about the untold number of hours she has spent playing Dragon Quest Builders instead of sleeping before school. And when she is not playing that, she is getting lost in the intricacies of the Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy X. She also touches upon our recent foray into playing through Xenosaga: Episode 1 (YouTube link) on stream for you fine folks and the issues that came about during it. Bryan on the other hand talks about catching up with the hype surrounding Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on PC along with his early impressions of Tyranny, the new cRPG from Obsidian. Finally, Zack discusses his experiences during Extra Life 2016 playing through Mother 3, a game that needs a localization sometime yesterday.
Moving on to news: Blizzard recently announced they would be bringing areas and bosses from Diablo 1 into Diablo 3 in a new content update for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. They also announced a new content update for the game in "Rise of the Necromancer' which will be adding the Necromancer as a character class, among other updates. Square Enix wouldn't let Blizzard steal all the spotlight as they too announced a new game... but this is going to be a new mobile MMO based in the Final Fantasy XV universe from Machine Zone, makers of "Game of War" and "Mobile Strike". That's the third mobile game announced for the FFXV franchise.
Of course, the bulk of our podcast is dedicated to Mass Effect: Andromeda! We talk about the new trailer; the Mass Effect timeline and where Andromeda is set; and all the important details that were shared from Game Informer's interview with the developers. This is one of our best podcasts yet, so we hope you will take the time to listen to it!
