Yo-Kai Gakuen Y launches digitally first on Nintendo Switch in Japan on August 13

Level-5 has announced that Yo-Kai Gakuen Y will be released in Japan digitally first on Nintendo Switch on August 13. While this RPG is also coming to PlayStation 4, the release date for the latter will be informed in the coming days. It will be available in regular and DX School Entry Set editions, the latter of which coming with 5 DLC packs that would have been sold separately.

Yo-Kai Gakuen Y is a spin-off to Level-5's popular Yo-Kai Watch where you will play as characters that can transform into Yokai Heroes while enjoying school life. Your character can become popular by defeating apparitions that roam around the school, responding to events and conflicts between other students, and joining school clubs and interacting with the clubmates. Yo-Kai Gakuen Y will also unlock a special mission if the player owns Yo-Kai Watch 4++ on the same platform.

As reported previously, Level-5 decided to prioritize the digital release of Yo-Kai Gakuen Y in light of recent global circumstances. Although a physical release is still being planned, it will be available at a much later time as Level-5 will focus on improving the digital copy by releasing regular title updates monthly.
