Genshin Impact Cooking guide: recipe locations, ingredients and character specialty dishes

You can get up to a lot of different things in Genshin Impact, but an absolutely major component is Cooking. Cooking requires you to simply head up to a stove - which are found all over in cities and at campfires - and doing so brings up a menu that lets you cook delicious meals using a wide range of ingredients.

Cooking is absolutely vital in Genshin Impact, as eating the fare that you prepare will give you powerful buffs that will in turn allow you take on more of the game's content. Each dish has a different speciality - some will buff you for dealing more damage, some will heal or revive you, and others will make things like climbing easier by gifting you more stamina. Meals are powerful, especially if you run a team without a healer.

In this guide, we list off every Genshin Impact recipe and what ingredients you'll need to create them - including the secret recipes certain characters can cook. How to Cook in Genshin Impact

As mentioned, to cook in Genshin Impact you simply need to head up to a stove anywhere in the world - the first one of these you encounter will be in your starter city, but they're scattered right across the world in towns but also at camp sites. Naturally, you'll need ingredients - these are picked up as loot, purchased in shops, and some ingredients have to be processed before use.

When you first start cooking a particular dish, you'll have to cook it manually by playing a little mini-game. All you have to do is stop the indicator when it's in the right place - it's all pretty obvious. The indicator has a lighter area that's more of a yellow tone and a darker area that's closer to orange - if you hit the orange that's 'perfect' and will garner the maximum effect for your chosen dish. As well as this, your 'proficiency' cooking that dish will be increased.

Once you hit maximum proficiency with a recipe, you'll be able to automatically cook that without playing the mini-game.

In addition to the standard recipes, it's worth noting that several characters in Genshin Impact have exclusive 'specialty' dishes they can cook. These are accessed by cooking an existing recipe with a specific character - and if you're lucky, it'll trigger an enhanced version of that dish only that character can cook. For instance, Xiangling can cook the Black-Back Perch Stew and instead get the Wanmin Restaurant's Boiled Fish recipe - which is signifncantly more powerful. All of these are listed below, nested under their 'parent' recipes.

Below, you'll find every single cooking recipe in Genshin Impact, alongside key information about it. That includes its star ranking and what effect it has when you consume it, but also the ingredients required to actually cook it and its location - which is to say where in Genshin Impact you might have to go in order to unlock that recipe for use.

Additionally, some recipes can have enhanced, exclusive versions appear when cooked by certain characters - these are nested underneath their 'parent' recipes. 

  • Adeptus' Temptation (5 star)
    • Increases every party member's ATK by 260-371 & CRIT rate by 8-12% for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: x3 Crab, x4 Ham, x3 Matsutake, 3x Shrimp Meat
    • Location: Obtained from a chest after completing the '3 Divine Birds' mini quest, atop Qingyun Peak.
  • Almond Tofu (2 star)
    • Increases every party member's ATK by 65-92 for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: x1 Almond, x3 Milk, x1 Sugar
    • Location: Unlocked at Wagshu Inn's Kitchen.
  • Barbatos Ratatouille (3 star)
    • Decreases Stamina depleted by sprinting and gliding for all party members by 20-35%, for 900 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 4x Carrot, 4x Onion, 4x Potato
    • Location: Obtain through talking to Vind at Stormbearer's Point.  
    • When cooked by Venti, can become True Barbatos Ratatouille. (Guaranteed 35% buff, for 1800 seconds)
  • Black-Back Perch Stew (3 star)
    • Restores 7.5% HP for all party memebrs. HP Regeneration of 350-580 every 5 seconds, for 30 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Fish, 1x Jueyun Chili, 1x Salt, 1x Violetgrass
    • Location: Buy from Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue, but only at Adventure Rank 30 or higher.
    • When cooked by Xiangling, can become Wanmin Restaurant's Boiled Fish. (34% HP restoration & 1410 HP regeneration every 5 seconds, for 30 seconds.
  • Calla Lily Seafood Soup (3 stars)
    • Increases every party member's DEF by 108-154 for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Calla Lily, 4x Crab, 2x Mint
    • Location: Buy from The Good Hunter in Mondstadt; Adventure Rank 30 and up.
  • Chicken-Mushroom Skewer (1 star)
    • Restores 8-10% of Max HP, plus an addition 750-1100 HP.
    • Ingredients: 1x Fowl, 1x Mushroom
    • Location: Unlocked from the start of the game.
    • When cooked by Kaeya, can become Fruity Skewers. (Health restoration up to 16% and 1200 HP.)
  • Chicken Stir-Fry (1 star)
    • Revives the selected character, restoring 50-150 HP. 
    • Ingredients: 1x Jueyun Chili, 1x Raw Meat
    • When cooked by Beidou can become Sauteed Meat Slices. (Revival up to 10% of HP, plus 150 HP.)
  • Cold Cut Platter (3 star)
    • Increases every party member's Physical Damage by 20-40% for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Bacon, 1x Ham, 1x Mint, 1x Sausage
    • Location: the Eagle's Gate dungeon, near Cape Oath. Finish it.
    • When Cooked by Fischl, has a chance to become Blessed Symphony.​​ (Physical Damage buff raised to 60% for 300 seconds.)
  • Come and Get It (3 star)
    • Increases every party member's Critical rate by 10-20% for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 3x Fish, 3x Raw Meat, 3x Rice, 1x Tofu
    • Location: Purchase from Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue. Adventure Rank 40 or higher.
  • Cream Stew (2 star)
    • Decreases Stamina depleted by Sprinting for all party members by 20-35%, for 900 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Cream, 2x Raw Meat, 1x Snapdragon
    • Location: Buy at the Good Hunter in Mondstadt from Adventure Rank 25 and up.
    • When cooked by Barbara, has a chance to become Spicy Stew. (35% buff for 1800 seconds).
  • Crystal Shrimp (2 star)
    • Restores 18-22% of Maximum HP to the selected character and gives 320-490 HP every 5 seconds for the next 30 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Carrot, 3x Shrimp Meat, 3x Rice
    • Location: Purchase from Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue; Adventure Rank 25+
    • If cooked by Xingqiu, has a chance to become Countryside Delicacy. (HP restoration up to 34% of Max HP, regeneration up to 1410 HP every 5 seconds.)
  • Fisherman's Toast (2 star)
    • Increases every party member's DEF stat by 82-117 for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 3x Flour, 1x Milk, 1x Onion, 2x Tomato
    • Location: Always unlocked.
    • When cooked by Klee, can become Fishy Toast. (Buff increased to 141 for 300 seconds.)
  • Flaming Red Bolognese (2 star) 
    • Restores 18-22% of Max HP to the selected character, then gives 320-490 HP regeneration every 5 seconds, for 30 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Flour, 2x Raw Meat, 1x Tomato
    • Location: Buy from The Good Hunter in Mondstadt. Adventure Rank 20 and higher.
    • Cooked by Lisa, it has a chance to become the Mysterious Bolognese. (26% HP restoration & 590 HP regeneration)
  • Fried Radish Balls (2 star)
    • Increases the party's ATK by 65-92 for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 3x Flour, 1x Pepper, 2x Radish
    • Location: Available from the start.
  • Golden Shrimp Balls (2 star)
    • Revives the selected character, restoring 250-550 HP.
    • Ingredients: 3x Potato, 4x Shrimp Meat
  • Grilled Tiger Fish (1 star)
    • Restores 8-10% of Max HP, plus 750-1100 HP.
    • Ingredients: 1x Fish, 1x Pepper
    • Location: Purchase from Wanmin Restaurant from Adventure Rank 15 and higher.
  • Jade Parcel (4 star)
    • Increases every party member's Attack by 65-95 for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Cabbage, 1x Ham, 1x Jueyun Chili, 3x Lotus Head
    • Location: Get off Xiangling during the 'Cooking Showdown' side quest.
  • Jewelry Soup (2 star)
    • Increases all party members' DEF by 62-88, for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Lotus Head, 2x Snapdragon, 2x Tofu
    • Location: Unlocked via the 'Custodian of Clouds' quest on Mt. Aozang. 
  • Jueyun Chili Chicken (2 star)
    • Increases all party members' Critical rate by 6-12%, for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Fowl, 1x Jueyun Chili, 1x Pepper
    • Location: Purchase from Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue. Adventure Rank 20+.
  • Lotus Seed & Bird Egg Soup (2 star)
    • Decreases Stamina depleted by sprinting by 20-35% for all party members, for 900 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Bird Egg, 1x Lotus Head, 1x Sugar
    • Location: Available in Bubu's Pharmacy in Liyue.
  • Mora Meat (1 star)
    • Revives the selected character and restores 50-150 HP.
    • Ingredients: 1x Flour, 1x Raw Meat
    • Location: Unlocked via the 'Custodian of Clouds' Archon quest on Mt. Aozang.
    • When cooked by Ningguang this, has a chance to become Caelum Terra Mora Meat. (HP revive at 20% of HP, plus 550 extra HP.)
  • Matsutake Meat Roll (2 star)
    • Restores 20-24% of Max HP, plus an extra 900-1600 HP to a selected character.
    • Ingredients: 2x Matsutake, 2x Raw Meat
    • Location: Unlocked via the 'Custodian of Clouds' Archon quest on Mt. Aozang.
  • Mondstadt Grilled Fish (1 star)
    • Revives the selected character, restoring 50-150 HP.
    • Ingredients: 1x Fish, 1x Pepper
  • Mondstadt Hash Brown (3 star)
    • Restores 30-34% of Max HP, plus an extra 850-2700 HP.
    • Ingredients: 1x Jam, 1x Potato, 2x Pinecone
    • If cooked by Razor, has a chance to become the Puppy-Paw Hash Brown. (40% Max HP restoration, plus an extra 3350 HP.)
  • Mushroom Pizza (3 star)
    • Restores 26-30% of HP to the selected character, plus HP regeneration of 650-1120 HP every 5 seconds, for 30 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Cabbage, 1x Cheese, 3x Flour, 4x Mushroom
    • Location: A drop from a Hilichurl Camp chest in Stormterror's Lair.
    • Cooked by Jenn, this can become the Invigorating Pizza. (34% HP restoration and 1410 regeneration). 
  • Northern Smoked Chicken (2 star)
    • Restores 40-70 Stamina.
    • Ingredients: 1x Cabbage, 1x Onion, 1x Smoked Fowl
    • Location: A drop from a chest in Stormterror's Lair that's unlocked by a Seelie/Spirit.
  • Pile 'Em Up (3 star)
    • Increases every party members' Critical rate by 10-20%, for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Cheese, 3x Potato, 3x Raw Meat, 1x Small Lamp Grass
    • Location: Buy from The Good Hunter in Mondstadt from Adventure Rank 40.
  • Qingce Stir Fry (3 star)
    • Increases every party members' Attack by 211-301, for 300 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 1x Cabbage, 1x Jueyun Chili, 2x Lotus Head, 3x Mushroom
  • Radish Veggie Soup (1 star)
    • Restores 8-10% of Max HP to the selected character, plus restores 190-270 HP every 5 seconds, for 30 seconds.

  • Satisfying Salad (2 star)
    • Increases the Critical rate of all party members by 6-12%, for 300 seconds.

    • Increases all party members' ATK by 211-301, for 300 seconds.

  • Steak (1 star)

    • When cooked by Amber, this can become the Outrider's Champion Steak!. (10% HP restoration on revive, plus a bonus 150 HP.)
  • Sticky Honey Roast (3 star)
    • Decreases Stamina depleted by sprinting and climbing by 20-35% for all party members, for 900 seconds.
    • Ingredients: 2x Carrot, 3x Raw Meat, 2x Sugar
    • Location: Get from the Story Quest that's tied to Jean. 
  • Sweet Madame (2 star)
    • Restores 20-24% of Max HP, plus an additional 900-1600 HP.
    • Ingredients: 2x Fowl, 2x Sweet Flower

  • Tea Break Pancake (2 star)
    • Revives the selected character, restoring 250-550 HP.
