Tokyo Game Show 2025 - List of expected RPG-related streams
The moment is almost upon us once again. The annual Tokyo Game Show will be held again in late September 2025. This is also where most of the Japanese game publishers go full-force in promoting their upcoming releases, which also include new entries in well-established JRPG franchises.
With the pandemic already further behind us, the publishers seem to gradually revert their focus back to physical demo booths and stage shows. However, most of the latter will have online live streams for people worldwide to catch up with. There will even be exclusive streams that run outside the event's actual days as well.
We have compiled most if not all streams of RPG titles that are within our coverage scope here. However, we are also noticing a missing puzzle piece in the overall jigsaw...

Will there be a new State of Play before TGS 2025?
Nintendo had already jumped the gun with last week's Nintendo Direct. But when we put up this article on the pre-TGS weekend, there are a few publishers that have still yet to fully unveil their lineups—namely, Sega and Koei Tecmo.
But while Sega already has a pre-determined place to make most of their reveals (to be explained right in the next segment), the same cannot be said for Koei Tecmo's mystery game. The only plausible scenario for the latter to be revealed before TGS would be through a State of Play stream by Sony.
As a matter of fact, there was a State of Play last year in September 2024 that took place on the Tuesday before TGS started. While there are still no announcements from Sony yet, we are expecting a State of Play to appear around the same timeframe as well for this year.
Wednesday, September 24
Sega - Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Summit & Direct
We already noted how Sega still has mystery slots in their TGS 2025 lineup. The most pronounced ones are in the merchandise list, where the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series segment has a lot of pending slots. All eyes will thus be on the Ryu Ga Gotoku Summit and Direct 2025 streams, which will go live at 12:00 JST (03:00 UTC).
One of the titles may have already been leaked out there, but there are still 3 more mystery games that Sega ought to reveal either in the above State of Play or these RGG streams.

Capcom - TGS 2025 Official Program
While Capcom had usually held their official TGS program on Thursday, this year they are moving it to Wednesday. But even though that makes it run before TGS even officially begins, the stream is still considered part of TGS' official program lineup. Despite the different day, the starting time should be still the same as prior years at 23:00 JST (14:00 UTC).
This program will particularly feature Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter Stories 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Pragmata, and Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. It will also show more new content for the fighting game Street Fighter 6.
Thursday, September 25

Bandai Namco - Code Vein II
Bandai Namco seems to keep on doing their own things in more recent TGS iterations. This year, they are going to broadcast a Code Vein II program at 08:00 AM JST (Tuesday 23:00 UTC). This would even technically start way ahead of the actual TGS event, which would only have its opening ceremony at 09:30 AM JST.

Netmarble - The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and Mongil
Netmarble also looks set to run their own show within TGS 2025. The company will run various shows for both The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and Mongil: Star Dive on all four days, with live streaming links set to be made available on their website.
Amidst the packed schedule, the main highlights will be more directed towards The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, with a TGS News segment at 10:45 JST (01:45 UTC) and the production announcement at 13:00 JST (04:00 UTC).

Microsoft - Xbox TGS 2025 Broadcast
Unlike Nintendo and Sony, Microsoft's platform-based broadcast is slotted well inside the TGS official program list, and that will be the case for 2025 as well. The Xbox TGS 2025 Broadcast will also lead the primetime streams by starting at 19:00 JST (10:00 UTC).
If it's anything like prior Xbox showcases, there should be reveals from third-party Japanese publishers, just like how Persona 4 Revival was revealed at the June showcase.

Koei Tecmo - Nioh 3 Official Program
The second entry in the primetime line will be Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja's Nioh 3 at 20:00 JST (11:00 UTC).

Level-5 - Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Level-5 will continue the primetime shows at 21:00 JST (12:00 UTC). Other than Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, the company will also publish more details on Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, as well as post-release updates for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.

Square Enix - Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake
The TGS primetime streams will conclude with a playthrough of Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake by the Japanese celebrity Eiko Kano while being accompanied by Yuji Horii, which is scheduled to start at 22:00 JST (13:00 UTC)
Friday, September 26

Koei Tecmo - Nioh 3 and Atelier series
Friday may seem to be a bit lighter on event streams (apart from Netmarble's packed daily shows), but Koei Tecmo will hold their own stream series on this day, so most people should be able to follow their streams for the day.
For the titles completely within our scope, Nioh 3 will have another event at 20:10 JST (11:10 UTC). But while the Thursday primetime show would run for almost an hour, this one should only have about 30 minutes, and it will focus on giving gameplay tips based on the TGS demo build.
The stream will then be immediately followed by the Atelier series at 20:45 JST (11:45 UTC), which will cover Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian and the Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack.
Saturday, September 27

Capcom - Pragmata: Monster Hunter
Capcom will start their booth stage shows on Saturday, with the proceedings also available to watch online via live streaming.
There are 3 titles within our scope that will be featured successively, starting with Pragmata at 10:30 JST (01:30 UTC), the Monster Hunter Wilds - Final Fantasy XIV crossover at 11:40 JST (02:40 UTC), and Monster Hunter Stories 3 at 13:00 JST (04:00 UTC).

Square Enix - Octopath Traveler 0 and Dragon Quest Remakes
Likewise, Square Enix will similarly hold physical stage shows with online live streaming on Saturday. The titles featured on this day will be Dragon Quest VII Reimagined at 11:30 JST (02:30 UTC), Octopath Traveler 0 at 13:30 JST (04:30 UTC), and Dragon Quest I&II HD-2D Remake at 15:30 JST (06:30 UTC).

Konami - Suikoden: Star Leap and Suikoden II Anime
While the Suikoden I&II HD Remaster compilation is already out, Konami is still doing a lot more things to the RPG franchise that they have a stage show completely dedicated to Suikoden at 12:00 JST (03:00 UTC).
This event will cover not only the new mobile game Suikoden: Star Leap but also the Suikoden II anime adaptation, the live stage play adaptation of Suikoden I, and the physical art exhibit for both Suikoden I&II.
In addition, Konami's channel will also host mini-live concerts for Falcom jdk Band's performances of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. The first session will be held at 16:00 JST (07:00 UTC) and again on Sunday at 15:30 JST (06:30 UTC)

Sony - Nioh 3 and Onimusha
Just like last year, Sony retains a PlayStation booth at TGS 2025, and they will also hold live gameplay shows over the public days.
Two of them are what we have been covering too, and both of them will even run back-to-back on Saturday. The Nioh 3 stream will run first at 14:20 JST (05:20 UTC), followed straight by the Onimusha: Way of the Sword stream at 16:00 JST (07:00 UTC).
Sunday, September 28

Square Enix - FF Tactics and FFXIV
Square Enix's streams on Sunday will start earlier at 10:00 JST (01:00 UTC) with a pre-recorded program for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game. It will be then followed by live stage streams of the online game Dragon Quest X at 11:00 JST (02:00 UTC), Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles at 13:00 JST (04:00 UTC), and the Final Fantasy XIV - Monster Hunter Wilds crossover at 15:00 JST (06:00 UTC) to conclude the company's show.

Capcom - Mega Man Star Force and Onimusha
Capcom's Sunday stream will begin with Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection at 10:15 JST (01:15 UTC), followed by Onimusha: Way of the Sword at 11:30 JST (02:30 UTC) and the mobile game Monster Hunter Now at 12:50 JST (03:50 UTC).

2K - Borderlands 4
2K has gotten an official stream slot at TGS 2025, and they will use it to promote Borderlands 4. The show will go live at 11:30 JST (02:30 UTC).
PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct
There will be one last related stream that will run this year, which is the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. This show is slated to have numerous world premiere reveals of games for PCs.
However, there are a couple of caveats here: This broadcast will launch at 16:00 UTC, which would be Monday at 01:00 AM in Japan's time zone—meaning the physical TGS event is actually already closed by then. And while Sega is also confirmed participating in this show, we have yet to know whether they will also include their RPG titles here or focus more on other genres like Football Manager instead.
